SLU contributes to Development of Policy Guidelines for the National Science and Technology Program 

Through the Coordinating Council of Private Educational Associations (COCOPEA) and Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP), Mr. John Michael A. Guerzon of SLU Basic Education School was once again called by the Department of Education (DepEd) to participate in the Workshop on the Development of Policy Guidelines for the National Science and Technology Program (NSciTP). 

SLU University Registrar is CHED-AREI-CAR newly-elected President

Saint Louis University University Registrar, Andrew S. Macalma, PhD, was elected as the President of the Commission on Higher Education Association of Registrars of Educational Institutions in the Cordilleras, Inc. (CHED-AREI-CAR) during the Strategic Planning and Meeting on 2 February 2024 at CARASUC Hall, 3rd Floor, CHED CAR Building, Cabanao Road, Km. 6, La Trinidad, Benguet.

CEAP reappoints SLU president as CAR Regional Trustee

Saint Louis University’s (SLU) pursuit for quality education was heightened through the reappointment of SLU President Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD as the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines – Cordillera Administrative Region’s (CEAP-CAR) Regional Trustee in January 2024. Fr. Sales affirms his longstanding service since his first appointment on 11 January 2023.

Towards “Improving the Livelihood of MSMEs through Cable-Supported Water and Transport Infrastructure”: DOST Secretary and Execom visit SLU

The Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Dr. Renato U. Solidum, Jr., along with the members of DOST Executive Committee graced Saint Louis University with their presence on 11 January 2023 at the Fr. Francis Gevers Hall to visit the approved DOST-assisted and DOST-Grants-in-Aid-funded project (DOST GIA), “Improving the livelihood of MSMEs through Cable Supported Water and Transport Infrastructure.” 

Food Upcycling Project

SLU UNRIC through the VLIR UOS Food Upcycling Project conducts research and food upcycling training session

In line with Saint Louis University’s commitment to sustainability that goes beyond academic pursuits, its University Research and Innovation Center (UnRIC) conducted a training session titled “Beyond Limits: Unleashing the Boundaries of Research and Innovation for Maximum Impact” on 10 January 2024 that centered on the importance of research publication and innovation in sustainable gastronomy and food upcycling. 

DOST-NICER Program

SLU to support and provide assistance for cable-supported irrigation pipeline for Batwag, Ambongdolan, Tublay through DOST-NICER Program

Through the DOST-NICER Program, Saint Louis University, in collaboration with the LGU of Tublay specifically in Barangay Ambongdolan, will provide technical support and assistance to develop and install cable supported structures and system intended for irrigation and transportation of agricultural products to foster the needs of farmers, assess existing cable-supported infrastructure and mapping of the identified pilot sites, design and fabricate an enhanced cable-supported water and transport infrastructure and install and conduct actual performance testing of the deployed cable-supported infrastructure.
