Saint Louis University – Sacred Heart Medical Center (SLU-SHMC) marked a meaningful gathering for the staff and personnel as they came together for the hospital’s monthly huddle on 1 October 2024. The event began with a Eucharistic celebration led by Rev. Fr. Gilbert Sales, CICM, PhD. The communal spirit was evident as everyone joined in prayer and reflection to start the day on a positive note.
Following the mass, the hospital took a moment to recognize the significance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the blessing of the new mammography section and digital mammography machine. The medical equipment promises easier and more effective detection of breast cancer. With its modern design from Japanese Digital and Advance Technology, the machine comes with great benefits, including increased image sharpness/detail, higher image quality, lower radiation dose, pinpoint diagnosis, and the capability to capture multiple images of breast tissue.
Dr. Paul Adlai B. Quitiquit also announced the upcoming opening of the Dialysis Center, Chemotherapy Center, Conference Rooms/Hall, Rehabilitation Center, and Study/work Areas. These expansions and enhancements signify SLU-Sacred Heart Medical Center’s dedication to provide comprehensive and holistic care to its community.
By emphasizing continuous improvement, growth, and a commitment to serving and supporting patient wellness, the hospital’s efforts contributed to the goal of ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages. The collective energy and enthusiasm displayed during the huddle also reflected a united front in delivering high-quality healthcare services. This event reflected the CICM Advocacy of Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) and aligned with Sustainable Development Goals particularly Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3).
