Rachel Salinel, a distinguished alumna of Saint Louis University in the Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication program from the class of 1987, has been distinguished as the Global Filipino Special Awardee of Excellence in Global Broadcast and Journalism by The Global Filipino Icon Awards 2024.
Sixteen administrators from Philippine Higher Education Institutions, State Colleges and Universities, and the Commission on Higher Education were presented as fellows of the UPSKILL Higher Education Innovations Leaders Fellowship during the Quality Assurance Conclave for Higher Education Leaders at the Sofitel Philippines Manila on 13 May 2024. Among the fellows is Engr. Jeffrey Des Binwag, SLU Dean of the School of Engineering and Architecture.
Spearheaded by the Taiwan Education Center in the Philippines, the 2024 Taiwan-Philippines Medical University Leaders’ Forum was held from 7-10 May 2024 in Taipei, Taiwan and Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Thirteen (13) Philippine medical schools were invited to participate in this event; which included our very own Saint Louis University – School of Medicine (SLU-SOM), represented by Dr. Judrelle Krizia C. The 4th Passion for Scholarship And Love for Mission (PSALM) International Conference, held on 4 May 2024, at the University of Sto. Tomas in Manila brought together esteemed professionals, pre-service and in-service teachers, and faculty members from various institutions across the globe. As one of the pillars of unparalleled quality teacher education in the country, it is with great pride and honor that Saint Louis University (SLU) has been invited as one of the prominent partner institutions in the said event.
The Community Extension and Outreach Programs Office (CEOPO) of Saint Louis University conducted the initial medical mission meeting on 7 May 2024 with Dr. Roberto Tolentino, the Medical Outreach Missions Fellowship Initiative (MOMFI) adviser, and students. The said meeting aimed to bring together medical professionals and students to discuss the upcoming mission and its objectives.
The Saint Louis University (SLU) Finance cluster, in collaboration with the Data Privacy Office, conducted a seminar on “Building a Culture of Data Privacy in Schools” held at the AVR of the University Libraries Building, Charles Vath Bldg., Baguio City in the morning of 9 May 2024.
The Teacher Education Council (TEC) spearheaded the R.A. No. 11713 IRR Awareness Campaign – Luzon Cluster on 2 to 3 May 2024, at Baguio Teachers’ Camp, Baguio City, with the theme, “Educate, Collaborate, and Empower: Steering Teacher Education towards Excellence”.
The Teacher Education Council, facilitated by the Quality Pre-Service Teacher Education Office of its Secretariat, led the organization of the “Consultation Workshop for Enhancing the Evaluation Process of the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT),” from 24 to 26 April 2024, at the Pages Hall, Baguio Teachers’ Camp, Baguio City, in accordance with the Republic Act No. 7784, as amended by Republic Act No. 11713, also known as the “Excellence in Teacher Education Act”.
Saint Louis University (SLU) held the 15th Gawad San Luis for Students Awards on 8 May 2024 at the Fr. Joseph Van den Daelen – Center for Culture and the Arts (CCA) Theater, SLU Main Campus. The annual awards ceremony recognizes the excellence and commitment of the different student organizations and publications of SLU in upholding the University’s mission and vision and carrying out their oathed duty to the Lousian community.
